"And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have
heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love. "(2 John 1:6 NIV)
God is love and He commands His children to walk in love. Jesus said for us to... "Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength... to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. There is no commandment greater than these. "(Mark 12:30-31 NIV) ~~-
God empowers us with His Spirit to walk in His love. We will walk in love as we choose to be led by His Spirit instead of our flesh. Love is a choice, not a feeling. God's Word tells us, "Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in him " (1 John 4:16 NIV)
Walking in love requires many decisions on a daily basis. We are to love with our thoughts, words and actions. Part of walking in love is speaking words of love. We should always build up with our words, not tear down. Love never hurts anyone. It is doing right and treating people right.
God says for us to treat people the way we want to be treated and to love those who do not love us. We are to love unconditionally, the way God loves us. Love does not hold grudges; it forgives and disregards the offenses of others. God defends us as we walk in love. He takes care of us as we live for Him.
The main goal of a Christian should be to walk in love. The world will want what we have as we allow God's love to flow through us. People need to see love in action not just hear the words. God's love changes people. He has called us and given us the power to be His witnesses. He wants us to grow up in our love walk; it is a process. We must choose to walk in love daily. Love never fails!
Pray this:
"Father, I want to be your witness. Thank you for giving me the power to walk in Your love in every situation and under all circumstances."
"In Jesus' name, Amen."
